Team Fortress 2Recently an online group of gamers that I frequently game with turned me towards Team Fortress 2. At first look I thought that this was not my type of game. Wow was I wrong! Team Base action game with non stop action! The graphics are cartoony, there is definitely some weird attire, weapons are things you never heard of, and the characters are ,well, characters, but the great thing about all of that is it is a game and all those things make it more fun. Yes, the action shooters such as Battlefield and Call of Duty are my bread and butter but the relief I get from playing this game, the pure gaming enjoyment is a wonderful feeling! It's simply fun!

The best part for the rest of the world is that it is now currently FREE to play. Yes, FREE! I however was one of the lucky last few to purchase the game, not knowing it was going to be free in 48 hours I spent a measely $10, but as you can probably guess from the comments above, it was worth it. Now, the game is free to play but there are some things that will cost you. From time to time throughout the game you will "find" special new weapons, hats, and creates, you can also purchase weapons, hats, and various other items. If you do find a crate you can trade it or purchase the key for it and receive an item that corresponds to that crate number. I have purchased a couple keys and all I have ever received is a couple hats, so the keys are not really worth it to me, so the next ones I will most likely trade. Weapons and items you find during the game can also be used to craft new weapons and items.

There are so many things I could try to talk about reference this game but my knowledge of the game is absolutely minimal. I must say thanks to the TWD guys and others for at least keeping me headed in the right direction. Team based game play (most of the time), objectives, fun characters, crazy weapons, and wacked out hats, all I can say is TF2 = FUN! Go download it today and join us for a game or two or three or four or five...

duke-nukem-forever The much anticipated years in the making game has finally arrived. Duke Nukem Forever, which is an amusing title since it took FOREVER for it to come out. Taking off where it left off with toughguy crudeness and a bad ass attitude he's back, the badass ladies man who is all out of gum, Duke Nukem! Okay now that we got the excitement out of the way lets take a real look at the product. The long and short of it is this, its a good game in a reminiscent sense of good. Granted its been years since I last took on the role of Duke Nukem, so its tough to recall all the fine details, however I expected much more, rather I hoped for much more out of this release.

In the beginning sequence it was nice to see them poke fun at the lengthy process of it's release. However, that doesnt make up for the poor graphics and choppy game play. My system isnt new but it should be able to handle this game. Some of the mechanics are not as smooth as one would expect. Even with all the disappointment its hard to shut it down completely. You still have the witty remarks, though they could use some updating, and the over the top mutilation of the invading aliens, which made Duke 3D fun, but its just missing that "something" more we all had hoped for that back in the day Duke 3D gave us. Though I have not completed it and will have to hold complete judgement until that time, and maybe after I give multiplayer a try its just not that good in respect to today's games. I'll finish campaign through, but definitely will not be replaying any of it in the near future.
